Patterns in Maths

One of the stations we can choose at maths time is 'shapes'. We experiment with different attribute foam shapes. Sometimes we can fit them together to make a picture, sometimes we work together to make the longest shape and sometimes we like to make tessellations. Fuzzy also joins in because he has great listening skills.

Tick Tock

We have been learning about time. Today we made huge clocks with hula hoops. We worked together in small groups to write the numbers and put them on our clock the correct way. The best part was helping each other, the tricky part was remembering the spaces between our letters so they went all the way around the clock. Heaps of learning and discussion.

Billy Makes the South Island

At Pataitai stations we are able to use playdough to fill in the map to make landscapes. Billy made the landscape of the South Island of New Zealand. He is pointing to where Wanaka is.

Our Library Visits

We love going to the library.

Our Librarian, Pip is very cool. She dressed like a skatie dude for Chad's book launch last Friday. She loves books as much as we do.
The best part of library time is sharing the books we are reading with our friends. We are learning about the library rules because the library is a very special place for people who love reading.

Cross Country

Cross Country Run on PhotoPeach

The track went 500m uphill and down. Our training really showed how you can improve over time. Children who could only walk most of the way were able to run to a fantastic finish on the day. All children in room 2 can very very proud of their achievements reaching a place in the race or their achieving own personal best. Well done!
Special congratulations to Millie who came first, Archie who came third and Zavier who came fifth. Super runners!!!
